Generally we don't use this blog for personal family matters, but we've had some requests to blog about our trip from Sullivan, Illinois to Sandpoint, Idaho. We are about to leave in our Saturn wagon and Toyota Highlander. I will be manning the Saturn with my 85 pound golden retriever and my wife will be piloting the Highlander with both kids. Generally I would say I have the easier cargo, but our golden retriever has horrible car anxiety and motion sickness. Also, the Highlander has an entertainment system for both DVDs and Wii.
As I type I can smell the beef jerky coming out of the oven for snacks along the way. We also have boiled eggs, nuts, fruit, and Paleo granola. We do have some Larabars for when we get desperate and I do have the necessary dark chocolate for that emergency situation. Since we are getting a late start we are going to have a hodgepodge of what's left over in the kitchen for lunch. Fortunately, my mother-in-law will be left here to clean up the dishes.
That's all for now. I need to walk the dog around the park one last time to try to wear him out and then we are going to head out. Cedar Falls here we come.
